Three Ways to Create Text in WebTycho You
may also create text in WebTycho with one of three text boxes. You may also attach files to accompany any of these text boxes.
Plain Text boxes (Simplest and Quickest)
Text Formatting Editor (Moderate complexity)
HTML (Advanced)
Which one to use? You can use whichever you like. In general, the Plain Text Box is the quickest and easiest and
may meet most of your needs, especially in conferences. Text Formatting Editor and HTML boxes are provided to help you add bold, italic and other formatting and may be most useful in the
Assignment area. Also consider: Document: Short notes with little or no formatting. Recommended Tool: The Plain Text box is quick and simple. Document:
Lengthy compositions (more than 35k) Recommended Tool: Write a short explanatory note in the text box, and then attach
the file as a separate document. Large files may become truncated in the text box. We also recommend that lengthy work is created in a word processor offline to avoid losing your work as a result of internet disconnections and WebTycho security time-outs.
Document: Documents with moderate formatting, such as bold, italic, color, and bullet lists that cannot be achieved with the Plain Text box. Recommended Tool: The TFE is a quick and easy way to achieve
HTML formatting. Document: Documents with complex formatting, including math equations and illustrations. Recommended Tool: Use HTML in the text box, or attach a non-HTML file.
It is best to create HTML documents offline and then copy and paste it into
WebTycho. See special instructions for doing this.Return to top |
