Using Microsoft Word with WebTycho
Important: Make Microsoft Office Suite 2007 documents compatible with Microsoft Office Suite 2003 documents. If you and your fellow students or instructor are using a different version of Microsoft Office then you may be unable to open and read documents they have sent to you.
When pasting into WebTycho you must use Ctrl - c to copy, Ctrl - x to cut and Ctrl - v to paste. Or, you can highlight and right click Copy > right click Paste into the text box with the TFE.
COPY AND PASTE
Microsoft Word into WebTycho
PLAIN TEXT BOX: Formatting such as bold, italic, and font changes will not be saved. Apostrophes, quotation marks and other special characters turn into question marks. Before pasting into a Plain text Box, disable auto-formatting in Microsoft Word.
TFE: Text pasted into the TFE will retain basic (bold, italic, underline) formatting. Color, font and other special formatting may have to be recreated with the tools provided. Set your Account Preferences for Text Formatting Editor and paste into the text box.
Slow Copy and Paste from Microsoft Word? When copying and pasting a large document from Microsoft Word it may take several minutes for your computer to copy the document to the clipboard. While the TFE is waiting to receive the text from MS Word it may seem that WebTycho and the TFE have timed out when in reality they have not. Please be patient for the data transfer from your computer into WebTycho.
